FREEBIES: Writing Modules for Remedial Pupils (English Essay Part 6 & 7)

Many remedial pupils struggle with English essay writing. This collection uses the “Baby Steps for Low Performance Pupils” method — breaking down writing tasks into small, easy actions that pupils can follow with confidence.

Here’s what’s included:

1. D’Module Email Writing (Formats and Steps)

This module simplifies the short message/email format into 8 clear steps. It includes templates for the three most common tasks:

• “To Tell”
• “To Invite”
• “Invite to Join”

It also provides common starting and closing phrases for greetings, introductions, and endings — so pupils can memorize and apply them easily.

2. Notes for Essay Part 6 and 7

This resource offers ready-made sentence starters organised by categories such as Day/Date, Place, Feelings, Price/Fee. Notes are tailored for both beginner and intermediate levels.

The main focus is on using the correct tenses (past vs present) and ensuring pupils answer all the key prompts (Who, When, Where, What, Why).

3. Copy and Paste Drilling Worksheets

These worksheets allow pupils to practice by rewriting well-structured sample answers into blank templates. This drilling method builds structural memory, helping pupils internalize the flow and format of essays without the stress of creating content from scratch.
