Teaching kids how to write an email can feel a bit tricky, can’t it? Where do you even start? From the subject line to the final closing, it can be a lot to remember. But don’t worry! We’ve found the perfect solution: a fantastic 14-page email writing module by Suheil Almawardie that makes writing emails as easy as ABC.

How to Use the F.R.I.E.N.D. Magic!

This module uses a simple and clever method called F.R.I.E.N.D. to guide your child. It breaks down writing into simple, fun steps. Here’s how you can use it:

1) Understand the Mission 🎯

First, read the writing task together. Think of it like a mission: “Your friend Julia wants to know about your favourite subject at school.” The module helps you figure out the mission’s goal (the “what”) and who you’re writing to (the “who”).

2) Brainstorm Your Plan ✨

Use the F.R.I.E.N.D. template to plan your email. This is the fun part! Just fill in the boxes with your ideas.

• F for Form of address: How do you say hello? (e.g., Hi Julia)
• R for Reason for writing: What’s the mission? (e.g., I want to tell you about my favourite subject)
• I for Ideas: What are the main points you want to share? (e.g., It’s English!)
• E for Elaboration: Add more details! Why do you like it? (e.g., It’s fun and easy)
• N for Next step: Ask a question to keep the conversation going! (e.g., What’s your favourite subject?)
• D for Date off politely: How do you say goodbye? (e.g., Your friend, Natasha)

1. Write Your Email ✍️
   Now, use your awesome brainstormed ideas to write the email on the provided template. Just turn those keywords into full sentences! It’s super easy because you already have your plan.
2. Check Your Work ✅
   Before you’re done, be a writing detective! Check for two things:

• The Contents: Did you include everything from the mission?
• Spelling & Grammar: Read it out loud to see if it sounds right.
