Soalan-soalan dalam Part 1 menggunakan teks ringkas (short texts) yang menyerupai bahan bacaan seharian. Teks-teks ini boleh datang dalam pelbagai bentuk, seperti:

• Notis (Notice): Pemberitahuan ringkas mengenai sesuatu acara atau peraturan.
• Iklan (Advertisement): Contoh iklan jualan produk atau perkhidmatan.
• Emel atau Mesej Pendek (Email / Short Message): Komunikasi ringkas antara dua individu.
• Tanda (Sign): Contoh tanda-tanda amaran atau maklumat yang biasa dilihat di tempat awam.
